The Return

And all this while! Imagine!

He stepped out from the coffin. His limbs were a picture of dry twigs – crackling and ready to break at the next tension they felt – carrying a weight they had never known – their native function foreign to them.

He must have fallen as many times as the feet in the mile that he walked.

When he finally began to walk his awkward walk, the years of strain in the wooden box slowly disappeared. The mind churned out psychedelic imagery in slow motion. The comfort of the walls seemed so limiting, now, as he saw and felt the space surrounding him.
